Silicon Interfaces announces the release of wireless USB Wireless2Wired Device Adapter as part of its Silicon Cores Core to the Intelligent System Program for Functional IP
CAMPBELL, Calif. - 1 May, 2014 - Silicon Interfaces, a high-end design services and leading provider for IPs in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, announces the availability of their wireless USB Wireless2Wired Device Adapter.
Silicon Interfaces wUSB device adapter is a highly integrated USB solution for Wireless2Wired USB applications. It simplifies the design of the wUSB systems and reduces the time to market. The SI16WUSB20 is a wUSB functional device adapter core designed as per wUSB 1.0 revision of Wireless USB standards. This core provides 480Mb/s HighSpeed WUSB interface. It autonomously handles the wUSB transactions and data transfers, thus bridging the wUSB interface to an easy read / write parallel microcontroller interface This Wireless USB Function Adapter is a single core solution incorporating Wireless USB connectivity between itself and the Wireless USB host, thereby significantly reducing the time and cost of implementing complex Wireless USB target system designs
Wireless USB Device Controller is designed to be used in a system to provide Wireless USB connectivity between the device it is being used and the Wireless USB host. This IP is designed based on the Wireless USB specification 1.0 and is backward compatible to the conventional USB 2.0 standard functionality in HighSpeed mode of operation.
The hub-less wUSB can also support dual-role devices DRDs, which in addition to being a wUSB device can function as a host with limited capabilities. For example, a digital camera could act as a device when connected to a computer and as a host when transferring pictures directly to a printer.
The wireless markets are in a state of flux for USB with conflicting technologies competing for the main market share, but with the Silicon Cores Wireless2Wired Adapter, millions of devices are given a new breath of fresh air for continuance of usage, opined Mrs Heena Bhatia, Chief Marketing Manager at Silicon Interfaces. The reliability and speed of communication has been assured by continuous testing based on sustained and random verification/validation methodologies, added Mr Pervez Bharucha, Chief Technical Consultant at Silicon Interfaces.
APPLICATIONS Digital Cameras, Digital Camcorders, Printers and Scanners, External Mass Storage, Wireless Hubs, Webcams, Portable Audio & Media Players, Desktop Speakers, Docking Stations and Projectors.
About Silicon Interfaces Silicon Interfaces offers specialized O2S2 services for VLSI Designs by Logic Design and Modeling in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog with Modeling, Simulation, Synthesis, and Verification for IPs/FPGAs/ASICs/SOCs as well as Electronic Design Automation EDA product support for customers in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Silicon Interfaces is a powerhouse of Intellectual Property developed by its team of Engineers. These are owned and copyrighted by Silicon Interfaces and sold as Portfolio of IPs. Silicon Interfaces released effective 2002 a plethora of 12 IPs and consequently 6 Verification IP across a broad spectrum. The Program is targeted to the Networking wireless and wired, Data Communications and Inter-connect areas, with extensions to Embedded and Storage areas. The program offers a Portfolio of Design IPs and has a program for Roadmap IPs.
Hot new releases are the Wireless USB, 40Gigabit and also the 802.11n.
The Design IPs come in a range of plug-&-play hosts, including 8/16/32 bit processor interfaces, AMBA, PCI and more. Certain IPs are certified by trade/industry orgs/forums.All Silicon Cores Design IPs are selectively targeted to FPGAs from Xilinx, Microsemi and Altera for synthesis optimizations. Mature IPs have been validated using FPGA target boards as well as silicon-optimiized to TSMC, UMC or Global 40/65/130 nm CMOS libraries.
