| Showcase | |
Silicon Interfaces presents a showcase of some high profile as well as low-profile but potentially significant applications projects that were developed at the company's state-of-the-art development center in Mumbai (Bombay), India. |
Working with a goldmine of sharp and dedicated developers, the company has always been successful in achieving the most difficult of all targets aimed and challenged! |
| Some indicative projects developed in the areas of Software are: | |
| • | bCentral: Microsoft Corp., Redmond |
As a hosted commerce solution for merchants, bCentral captures key data from merchant transactions. bCentral needs to provide reports based on this captured data to its merchants. This will enable merchants to understand their business and make better business decisions. There are both server side reports as well as client reports based on Excel. The Server Side Reports have been generated from XML. The data is presented to the Merchant using XSL Transformations. The XML file is generated from a XML API call to SQL Server 2000. The Client Application is developed as an Excel VBA application that includes the UI as well as the logic to authenticate the user, it downloads the XML data from the bCentral web site and renders the specified set of reports and charts. |

| • | Project 5227 TaxSystem: USA based Law firm |
5227 Tax System software is addressing the 2004 Federal, California, Utah, Indiana, Arizona and Massachusetts tax return, this software specializes in Charitable Trusts and Other Trusts. Have an interactive graphic user interface in WISIWIG format. |
This application is developed Using JAVA (Swings). There are all together 46 Tax forms of USA Government including Federal and State forms. Software also supports final printing of the forms in PDF format, which will be submitted to US government. Saving of the trust information can be done over the network. |
Silicon Interfaces Java group was involved in Designing the GUI, Application Logic, Coding, Testing and Debugging of the entire system. |

| Some indicative projects developed in the areas of VLSI are: | |
| • | Megacell 7990 |
Silicon Interfaces is the world's answer to integrated solutions for business needs in information technology. Silicon interface, India is operating since 1990; marketing primarily in USA, Europe and Pacific Rim. The Company offers on-site, contract consulting and customized turnkey project services for software and in the area of VLSI Designs. |
There are several LAN technologies in use today, but Ethernet is by far the most popular. The widespread popularity of Ethernet ensures that there is a large market for Ethernet equipment, which also helps keep the technology priced competitively. |
The SI7990 functions as a Local Area Controller for Ethernet. The SI 79C90 interfaces a minicomputer or microcomputer with the IEEE 802.3 / Ethernet Local Area Network. Its versatile bus interface logic interfaces the peripheral chip with Intel, Motorola, Zilog or AMD microprocessors. The serial I/O interface is compatible with Ethernet IEEE 802.3 draft specifications. |
| Features of the design : | |
The device can be programmed by the host using its internal control and status registers. On the host side, SI7990 handshakes with the bus controllers and accesses the memory, using an on board DMA for data packet transmission and reception. |
The device supports 16 bit wide multiplexed data bus and 24 bit wide address bus. The parallel bus interface is made flexible so as easily interfacable with variety of 16 bit microprocessors with minimum glue logic. |
The SI 7990 incorporates number of self-test and diagnostic routines to test the operation. Both network and packet errors are reported by the SI7990. These errors are reported via the status registers. These registers are used to set certain operating parameters and report the errors. It facilitates a high system performance because of on-board DMA, advanced buffer management and extensive error reporting and diagnostics, etc. |
| • | AGNI: Gigabit Ethernet Controller |
The project involved the conversion of the VHDL code to Verilog, testing the converted code & synthesizing the Verilog code. |
| • | XMAC: Megabit Ethernet Controller |
Conversion of XMAC2 (megabit ethernet controller) from VHDL to Verilog. |
Silicon Interfaces is working on several other exciting applications and we promise to present you with the latest designs and development work progressively hereonwards. |
